You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop. - Rumi

As we thought about the social media experience, we were struck by how circular it really is. In an ecosphere, when one element isn’t getting its needs met — be it too much or not enough of any given thing — it can become unhealthy. When one element in the ecosphere becomes unhealthy, other elements in the ecosphere become unhealthy in turn.

Likewise, a noosphere requires the proper balance of conditions for a healthy and thriving community. When there exists too much outrage, bitterness, hostility and intolerance, and not enough conversation, cooperation, understanding and acceptance, the unhealthiness starts to spread. When the noosphere provides the right balance, however, it can be a beautiful place to exist.

When a drop draws help from the ocean, it is an ocean in itself. - Abdu’l-Baha

Your personal experience of social media is representative of the greater experience of social media. You create ripples every time you drop into a shared space, and waves when you join your energy with others. What exists within each drop in a body of water permeates the whole, and the whole permeates each drop.

Do your experiences on social media make you healthier or less healthy? What are you bringing into the environment yourself? These were the questions inspired by the above quote from Rumi, which ultimately inspired our name, and we hope it inspires you, too.
